Looks like no direct state support but $10.2M from the institution (which is funded by the state)
Direct funds provided by the institution to athletics for theoperations of intercollegiate athletics including:
- Unrestricted funds allocated to the athletics department by the university (e.g. state funds, tuition, tuition discounts/waivers, transfers)
- Federal work study support for student workers employed byathletics.
- Endowment unrestricted income, spending policy distributions and other investment income distributed to athletics in the reporting year to support athletic operations.
Some of that may come from Utah's endowment ($1.64B at 5% interest is $82M), but I'd hope and expect that most of the endowment goes to things other than sports.
Bottom line though, 8.06% of Utah's athletic department income comes from direct institutional support
