Offsides would only apply if his own team mate passed the ball to him. There's no such thing as offsides if you are
stealing the ball from a player on the other team.
I suppose that once the goalie had the ball, everyone just turned around and started heading back up the field. Sure, someone on his team should have seen the guy behind him, but it was at the very end of the game, they didn't expect anyone to be behind the goalie, and apparently they weren't as alert as they should have been.
