Kevin Young is trying to build the premier NBA prep school in the country. High school guys projected to go high in the draft are considering BYU for the first time ever.

The last thing they want to do is spend a lot of time having “good, BYU clean fun.” Young’s best pitch is “hey, come here for 8 months, lock in, and get ready for the draft.” If Demin and Catchings come here and don’t go pro, it will dissuade other one and dones to come here. And if they do stay in college, but transfer out, Young’s pitch dies.

We need them to come in, be great, get drafted, and exceed expectations as rookies. If they can do that, BYU can become something legitimately great under Young.

It may not all rely on these two, but if we start off hot, that will do wonders.
