I used to think that BYU would 100% be left on the outside...
looking in when the super conference comes to fruition. But in the last couple of months seeing what Ryan Smith has done for BYU BBall and the fact that Ryan and these other billionaires you mention may finally be bankrolling the athletic department kind of like what Phil Knight has done for Oregon makes me think BYU has a real opportunity to resurrect in football and make it into the super conference thing when and if it happens (and I'm pretty sure it will, unfortunately). It may end up being that the primary differentiator for those in and those out comes down to money and finally it seems like BYU may be in the "haves" camp. Have a top-25 business and law school (respectively) is finally starting to pay off.

Honestly, I think the biggest limitation BYU Football has is the rule that the head coach be a worth Latter-Day Saint. It very much limits their options and the head coach is a huge deal. I love me some Kalani Sitake, but I'm doubtful he's the answer for BYU football.
