Park, deadwood, cave of winds , day trip to teddy roosevelt national park to cross North Dakota off my state list.

Just avoid the week of Sturgis because it gets crowded (though the people are entertaining)

We enjoyed seeing Devil's Tower as much or more than Mt Rushmore. Also, hiked through Jewel Cave. Stayed in Deadwood.

The Black Hills is a really underrated part of the country. Very pretty.

We did the same. In some ways, it was as if Covid didn't exist up there.

We did a route that included Rocky Mountain NP, Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower and Yellowstone

If you hit Wall Drug you can’t miss the Corn Palace. Both are life changing.

Just a little farther east and you can also visit the Badlands National Park. Worth it, imo.
