had extra job security because of Tom Holmoe.
He got called by SLC for angrily storming the field at that targeting penalty against Utah. Don't pretend like KS's bosses don't keep him in line in ways that bosses at other schools wouldn't.
But it's such a massive leap that BYU doesn't want to gain a reputation for firing coaches left and right?
In fact I'd be willing to bet Ed Lamb did have some job security from above Kalani. He didn't even get fired, it seems he kinda had to finally agree to leave when things got ridiculously bad under that which he was responsible for.
But if that were true, you guys couldn't keep repeating how bad KS is for keeping Lamb so long.
None of this is absolve Kalani of his responsibility. The point is this is BYU. A place that tells it's students and faculty how to wear their hair and what beverages they can't drink. Is it really shocking to think the bosses encourage completion of contracts whenever possible? No, it's not.
