Is there something missing in regards to why you feel this way, or is this based on an industry standard that has
actually no practical function other than sparing someone from having to look at an extra piece of paper. We live in a digital world that actually makes the need to use actual paper obsolete thus making a digital page less of an issue.

I realize the value in hammering a concise image of ones work history for the sake of ease, however not everyone lives in a world where they spent six to ten years at company A then company B in order to make it nice and tidy for someone interviewing.

What is even worse about this, is even today in 2024, many companies who hire not only insist on your uploading a resume/cv, but then they still expect you to hammer in all the details of your life and work history in some ham-fisted app that basically has you copy pasting or rewriting everything already neatly stated in the resume you uploaded. For what reason?
