Walker Pass to Lone Pine (94 miles) took me four days. There were several kind Trail Angels within this section. It seemed like where ever I crossed a paved road or went through a public campground, there was someone there offering a welcome camp chair, food, and drinks to PCT hikers.
Views are also getting much less desert-y as the elevation increases.
On Tuesday, I got off the trail at Lone Pine for the expected birth of our granddaughter and to give the snow another week to melt. But I had some extra time, so I rented a car and drove back to Idyllwild, where I was able to knock out the eight-mile section of trail that I had to skip in April. I feel better now that there are no remaining breaks in my footpath from Mexico to Lone Pine. Life is so good.
