I've heard things that I don't believe (example 1: a bishopric councilor shared that he feels that LGBT+ weddings will someday take place in the temple; example 2: Garden of Eden is an analogy.... humans evolved from single cell organisms over billions of years), but accept as opinion. I can't prove them or disprove them with my limited understanding.
My current ward is older (I'm in the middle at 53) and so maybe the older people don't care to object or are just comfortable in their beliefs.... or just open to new ideas. Although more conservative now, I used to be much more 'liberal' in my thinking.
I agree that we have a stewardship over our bodies. We need to take care of them. God wants us to take care of them. But, I'm not going to preach that as official principals of the gospel without any scriptural back up.
