1: It's not common knowledge in Logan that Pope wants out but apparently Danny Sprinkles camp did share some things with people up there about Pope trying to undercut his deal. I do believe that Pope has his eyes set on something higher than BYU...like Kentucky.

2: This was shared with a few people at USU from Danny Sprinkle. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. That is the source of the rumors.

3: I do believe both coaches were contacted by Utah State. I don't know that either has any interest. I had actually heard this a couple of weeks ago and Madsen was announced as signing an extension a couple of days later which seemed kind of strange after 1 mediocre year at Cal. Maybe 1 mediocre season is enough for Cal administration to buy in on you or maybe he used Utah State to leverage something.

4: No one said Pope is considering Utah State. A few people shared their ideas as to why Pope MIGHT consider Utah State. No one said that he was actually considering USU though.
