My daughter had her first (and so far, last) near miss in middle school when she left it on the school bus at the end of the day.

Just so happened the same bus picked up my son for his elementary school route and he saw it sitting on the seat and recognized it at his sisters.

All's well that ends well and she's now sufficiently traumatized that she keeps a mental note of where it is at all times.
