Her current podcast (which I don't plan on viewing) suggests one big reason.

She apparently threatened to leak it immediately if BYU didn't.

There was probably pretty bad blood between she & Brandon at the time — which shouldn't surprise. At the time, she was not only reported as being pregnant with his child. But also as being her "former girlfriend" if I remember right.

That there's of course "a situation."
