IMPORTANT TOPIC. This board constantly made fun of the Utah Utes for bragging
and overemphasizing their new Pac-12 membership. Yet I am disheartened to see much of the same behavior with CougarBoard BYU fans nowadays. To avoid this type of pathetic conference superfandom, please observe the following rules:
- Do not root for teams that are not yet even in your conference (unless you were a verified fan of those teams prior to BYU’s acceptance). BYU does not join the Big 12 until July 2023.
- Do not make the Big 12 the central part of BYU’s identity. Never call Provo “Big 12 country.”
- Never wear or display Big 12 merchandise, especially in lieu of BYU merchandise.
