Wherever subjectivity is required, there will always be human error/disagreement
That hasn't stopped us from creating some very fun games.
Despite all that I point out, football is still extremely fun and popular. Yet even after the biggest game, a major storyline is....the officiating.
Other big incidents that got me thinking about this is the Saints/Rams 2018 game that my OP referenced post is from. Or the BYU/UAB game in 2021.
Football is fun, but sometimes you get burned (or think you do) because of how the game is designed, no matter if your team is playing within the rules.
