I've met with thousands of people over my 20 year career and not one of them
Has said they are living off the cash value pf any life policy they have.
Most people over 60 I've met with, when I ask them aboit life insurance and if they don't have any, tell me they've had whole life or universal life when they were younger but now they don't have it and they roll their eyes when I ask theim how it worked out for them.
Some who do have whole life typically have a very small policy that a family member bought for them when they were a child for 5k or 10k death benefit and its paid up.
