Terrible metaphor. WL is a poor investment vehicle for nearly everyone. If u
need insurance. But insurance. Term life insurance. No need to buy WL carrying a mediocre at best investment along as baggage.
And, if you have an employer that provides term insurance there is usually an option to add into that if you want more coverage and your employer has negotiated terms for you - which usually is a benefit.
Notice that employers never provide whole life insurance to employees. Why? It is not a useful benefit and usually quite the opposite.
