Quite possible, so no contending team should take a chance on him....
The Jazz aren't a contending team though. So it makes sense for the Jazz to take a big swing that probably won't work, but could be franchise-altering if it does.

On the other hand, the Nets do fancy themselves as a contending team. KD as the #1 guy, Kyrie as #2, Gobert as #3 is a roster built to contend. So they are probably desperate to move off Simmons and to add Gobert, plus not particularly concerned with the future. So they'd give up Simmons and probably two picks to get Gobert. Just a function of their level of desperation means they're more willing to overpay. Whereas a team like the Hornets isn't that desperate (for many reasons)

So, if the question is, would I rather get an anchor contract (Hayward) and 3 firsts or an anchor contract with potential to be amazing (Simmons) and 2 firsts, I'd go with the Nets over the Hornets.
