I found jumping off the rock at Black Rock better than the snorkeling, although there are great snorkeling spots a little to the north. Incorporate Mama’s Fish House, Iao Valley, Makena Beach, the nearby black sand beach and sunrise at Haleakala (biking down the crater is an option but my wife had ZERO interest. Stop and eat breakfast at Kula lodge).

I absolutely love road to Hana (there are apps that act as tourney guides along the way) and Oheo Gulch/7 sacred pools hike is one of my favorite places on the planet—make sure you have time for the full hike. It’s heavenly. My advice is to leave early and give yourself time for a very full day. But road to Hana is not for everyone. Some people hate the twists and turns.
