1st time, fly into Honolulu on Oahu. Spend 3 days on Waikiki. See Pearl Harbor, hike Diamondhead
Go snorkeling. Spend 4 days on the north shore. Go to PCC, take an ATV/ UTV ride at Kuaola Ranch, go to Sunset Beach, go to Turtle Bay.
