agnostic yet still practicing member. I’m a graduate but have a hard time with many aspects of BYU. Especially the honor code office and some of its practices (until more recently apparently - have known several people, some very close to me whose lives and mental health were disrupted or destroyed over real or falsely accused honor code infractions and the resulting process). I get so weary of some people defending this stuff especially on here.
But yet, for all the philosophical problems I have with some of how the institution does things, I’m still a die hard BYU fan. I love the teams and follow constantly. At the end of the day, I love the principles of the gospel (even if I feel the institution and church members don’t demonstrate those principles at times), and I have so many good memories from BYU sports that I’ll always be a fan. I love that there are other fans like me who exist on a spectrum all the way to totally non-believing. There is room for everyone here and we should unite under this flag.
