Don't make it complicated. We lost Grimes and Matteos. That is the experience.
The offense staff will have 1 less coach. Two new coaches added - that can take time to gel.
This is a comparison to 2020 discussion. Not a state that staff is bereft of experience. It is just a step back from 2020 where we had a staff together for 3rd year.
Regarding players. Every team has players coming back from injury. And, you never quite know if they get back to 100% or if they turn out to be injury prone.
Again. This is compared to 2020 discussion. The 2020 team had quite a few players with experience and that had played together and gelled. We were likely very high on ranking of returning production going into 2020 - and you saw the difference that made.
2021 BYU resembles 2019 BYU much more so than 2020 BYU on offense and defense. ST will resemble 2020.

The schedule will also resemble 2019 and be nothing whatsoever like 2020.
