Speaking of airport designs — a few airports have surprised me in terms of long and or short walks...
I’ve never had a long walk at LAX. Not a big fan of LAX just due to the hassles of the city but the walks to your gate are super easy.

DFW is a big airport but their tram system makes it feel small and convenient to get around. Same with Chicago O’hare and Denver. JFK/ La Guardia/ DC were all surprisingly small and easy to navigate.

The airport that caught me off guard was Miami. Easily the longest walk from one gate to another that I’ve experienced.

Worst airports I’ve been to are probably Kansas City and St. Louis. ABQ is less than impressive but it’s small and I didn’t expect anything better from Albuquerque.
