I never wanted a dog, but relented...
It actually turned out really well. The kids take care of her and she is the best behaved dog I have ever met (Rarely barks, never licks or puts her feet on people). Has only peed in the house twice and once was when we left her inside for 23 hours.
My youngest is 12 and the dog is about 7. I am betting the dog dies around the time she leaves the house. I won't be getting a new dog though.
They are great for kids, but a pain to travel with or have someone watch while you travel.

That gif looks just like my dog but I haven't seen any dingleberries, dog humping, or urine inside in years.

It might be a stellar's jay, but it definitely is blue. I'll try to get a photo. It's around here all the time.
