Let's be honest with ourselves, the "bevy of talented backs" at FSU did not exactly light the world on fire in 2018. Their RB1, Cam Akers, went for 706 yards, 4.4 yards per carry, and 6 TDs. RB2, Jacques Patrick, went for 378 yards, 3.5 ypc, and 1 TD.
If you can't beat out guys that put up those kind of very mediocre numbers, are you really that good?
