We seriously need to dial that down and make some new policies. Waaaay too many people bringing in their demented 95 year old grandpa who is now slightly more out of it and expect you to do everything possible for them. The threat of a malpractice suit, or at least lack of information initially gets the ball rolling on these guys. They end up in the ICU until the family can be educated or an ethics committee can be called and care can be stopped. This all happens $50,000 later in the hospital course.
