They run the option at the armed forces schools because of the talent or lack
thereof, not because they believe a 1950's scheme is the best option in today's world of college football. Can you imagine a bunch of 5'9 185 lb subpar athletes trying to run the same offense of Alabama or Oregon or Florida State? Of course not, they don't have the line for it nor do they have the skilled players.
