If in fact you were physically abused by the police as you stated, and there were 100 wittnesses, you probably have a case against the Provo Police officers involved (IE Rodney King).

IMO (from what I've heard), 3 parties (or groups of people) were at fault.

1) The people yelling at the refs were idiots.
2) The officials acted irresponsibly.
3) The police used undue force without getting the facts. Although I'm not sure how I would act in their place if I thought a riot was about to break out.
