I'm not going to give the lecture on how poorly this incident reflects on our school, fans, and religion, regardless of who first threatened physical harm. The fact that our fans were screaming, taunting, jeering, and verbally abusing a visiting conferences referees after we WON the game fairly comfortably is the truly pathetic thing about the story. Agreed that the polic overreacted and it is sad that you went through this, but what was the point of continuing to harrass the referees on their way to their dressing room after we WON the game? They didn't cost us the game, not even close. It was a poorly officiated game, but EVERYONE in American who watched the game knew that. Even the biased ESPN announcers poked fun at the refs, but to have near riot conditions after a WIN is unfathomable.
