Made good decisions and executed. Thats not Retzlaffs forte for a lot of reasons (accuracy, he forces throws that arent there, hesitates too much, poor situational awareness - threw INTs on 1st and goal at least a few times - that shouldn’t still be happening as a especially in tight games, etc.) Not turning the ball over and kicking FGs would be a big improvement. Sure give him some low risk pass plays but no more slow developing pass plays where he’s throwing in traffic and no more f*des for crying out loud, not with Retzlaff or any BYU QB ever again.
Also I like what Jo. Beck said today about how he needs to think more about high probability throws and that should help his completion % which is very poor. He weirdly struggles with hitting his release valve and short passes which seems like it would be an easy thing to improve and would make a big difference. He’s slow to decide to do that and often kills the play as a result. Actually that was one of the few things he did a little better at in the CU game - throwing screens when they blitzed
Sometimes he hesitates too much when deciding to run - wish he would just take off more and make defense react. Hes great on designed runs
