As an example, let’s say Jonny Linehan converted that infamous 4th and 19 fake punt inside the end zone. Would converting that have made that a smart decision? Of course not. The reward for a massively risky play would be having the ball on your own 25ish yard line. Hardly a reward worth risking giving the ball to Boise inside the 5 yard line.
