I write down the specifics on my phone and when they ask questions I point to my phone so they can read the answers.

1. It goes faster
2. My information remains private
3. Allows me to have the salutations, how are yous, and niceties while engaged in the business I'm about.

Pharmacies are all in when I do this and get it. Banks some times need the preface "I'll share that with you here" pointing at my phone or showing ID and such.

I have lost track how much PHI I've received just sitting at a Walgreens or CVS waiting for my prescription to be filled. Listening not intentionally to customers being loud, pharm techs being loud, even being able to hear the drive thru speaker barking all kinds of details. (Reason why I never use the pharmacy drive thru)
