The expectations were more based on "sentiment" than actual data.
So because we're several sigma from the median, this chart says to me that "sentiment" was obviously unreasonably biased against BYU (and coincidentally FOR Utah).
Sounds about right. But these outliers will help shape/temper "sentiment" for the future.
In other words, who cares what is said, just win.

Yes there is, at least for a few years. That would happen if the media and polls continue to underestimate BYU
