I think he has to model the same edge. He has shown it at times, especially when he goes for it on 4th down. (although the 4th and 19 fake punt was clearly too "edgy").
But, I think his inherent "edgyness" was supplanted by "defensiveness" as long as Tuiaki was here, as he was always playing defense for his friend. And when his players didn't see it, they were more tentative and less aggressive. It was just another way that the team suffered with Tuiaki running the "bend and eventually break" no pressure defense.
