had to force his way into being a starter, and a few key great games had to fall at just the right time for him to become what he became at BYU. IIRC, he even considered transferring after is Frosh or Soph year, as coach Rose didn't yet seem to be wholly bought in to Jimmer, and didn't give him that much PT early on.
But glad it worked out, as Jimmer is IMO the most entertaining player to ever play basketball, and I mean at any level. He is so fun to watch, and does so many things well, despite not having anything like Lebron James kinda genetically gifted physical tools. Just smart, other-wordly observant on the court, consistently hard-working, and an amazing attitude and level of maturity.
