For future reference,
as long as sutures are placed within the first 24 hours, they will typically have a good cosmetic outcome. So, in the future, if it’s the middle of the night and you can get the bleeding to stop through direct pressure/bandaging, go to an urgent care in the morning. As stated above, much cheaper.
Emergency room visits are priced much higher because of the costs to staff it for emergencies (and because emergency room/hospitals can).
