Mm. That UTEP team went 1-10. Wazzu's 3-0 w bigger margins vs better competition
Than the 2-1 Washington team that they beat head to head in UW's hometown (not on their own home field like UTEP did us).
I know, it's depressing. We were literally UTEP's only win that year.
Wazzu also barely lost to Washington last year, so this isn't some bizarre outlier the way UTEP 85 was. Washington St goes bowling most years out of a P5 conference, they're not UTEP, never have been.

Which of course, makes sense. A ranking system based entirely on 1 or 2 or even 3 games would be completely worthless.
