BYU falls behind due to lacking P5 status (fans and even Holmoe said independence wasn't sustainable and we all know it hurt recruiting) and Kalani gets blamed for it? He was really expected to come in and beat Utah for D line recruits as a non P5 independent with a shoe string recruiting budget?

What planet are you guys living on when you ignore non P5, low money spending, low support staff realities and recruits not wanting to play in the New Mexico bowl instead of a shot at the major bowls?

Just look at basketball. Is the boost in success because Pope or Young are amazing coaches? Pope can't win a tourney game and we have no idea if Young will or not. The difference is $$$, support staff and being in a P5 conference.
