I had a 1 year full tuition scholarship my freshman year. My parents paid for housing.

Then a mission. Then when I got back I had only a half tuition scholarship, my parents paid for the tuition balance and I got a job and saved and paid for tuition and housing on my own after that.

The last thing my parents did for me was give me a $1000 toward my engagement ring.
