I disagree. I’ve driven RWD in Utah for years. FWD understeers. RWD oversteers. AWD does either depending on if it’s
FWD crossover system or a full time RWD system, the advantage is in acceleration not safety. You’ll see AWD in the barrow pits of I15 more than anything else because they think they are invincible.

With traction control, RWD is even easier,

I prefer RWD and oversteer. I despise understeer and hate FWD in all season!
