NIMBYs won't let affordable options near them, though.
You just can't keep building on .25 acre lots in Utah and keep it affordable... you just can't. But you could make very nice townhouse and condo communities with shared Greenspace and great public transit and have a really great living situation... maybe even better then the fenced yard situation.

If we want housing to be affordable we're going to have to be ok with higher density, and instead commit to making that density smart and livable.
