Bridgestone Blizzak WS-90

Really good winter tires on my little Corolla. Got some funny looks driving it out to the shooting range in some very snowy conditions but it did great in the snow. If he is easy on the throttle and puts some weight in the back I bet he would be fine. I agree with other posters that all seasons won't cut it in RWD up by the ski slopes.

Get a FWD sedan and sell the RWD. Even with great tires going up to a ski resort would often suck

Do studded snow tires in winter, anything you want during the other times. Go cheap in Fall/Summer/Spring
