Trade school or apprenticeship. Here is my list off the top of my head:
Depending on what the issues are some of these of course won't be options for every kid but there are a million jobs that pay well for people that work hard and cant do school.

Plumber
Electrician
HVAC Tech

All of the above are going to be highly sought after in the years to come. Very few entering those trades and AI won't be in a position to replace them for a long time. Learn to code will soon be "learn to wire a house"

Police and/or Fire academy. Good jobs and we need more good people to do them.
Air traffic control - insane salaries no degree requirement and starting age is capped pretty low which narrows the candidate pool. Assuming a clean background and no drug use further narrows the candidate pool
Train conductor - Tough work as its 24/7 on call for many years at the beginning. Great money though.
Truck driver - Not everyone has to be a long haul driver. Lots of short haul jobs that pay really well. Shortages mean some companies will even pay for the CDL training now. \
Port Pilot - Not easy if you dont live near the coast but if I could do life over again, this is what I would choose. You need to start getting really any maritime job on a boat. From there enter a port pilot training program. It takes several years but in the end you spend life piloting big boats into port. The money is insane. I read that port pilots at the port of Miami can make $500k per year.
