The more people who choose to raise their expectations to previously unseen heights, the greater angst, anger and vitriol if their premature expectations aren't met. I've seen that movie a number of times. It's ugly. I'd rather people do a little more enjoying the ride as it happens. I'd rather people are better positioned to weather some ups and downs.
I'm the same way on the other end. In the immediate aftermath of Pope leaving and players hitting the transfer portal, I was telling people to wait and see how things play out and that chances were we'd be just fine.
