Didn’t get much from this talk. I realize it's from 3 years ago but.. a lot of her doom and gloom talking points don't really mesh with reality. Some of it I expect was because it was given on the cusp of COVID and there was a lot of uncertainty and all but a lot of it just felt like talking points of the left.
She mentioned that the UN population predicts 11 Billion by 2100 but those numbers have been are continually revised down from where they were. A lot ( most? ) of countries have populations that will be smaller than they have been in the past because people aren't have babies in #'s they have had in the past.
In the not too distant future China is supposed to have a "population bomb" because of past policy limiting family size and because people in China aren't eager to have many children China is expected to decrease in population by 10s ( 100s? ) of millions.
"The world is falling into a baby bust—so quickly and so widely that it’s taken many by surprise. The demographic squeeze brings economic, social and geopolitical consequences."
