One of my least favorite parts of dentistry is the old, ‘my tooth didn’t hurt
Before you did anything to it, but now it does.’
There is a fundamental lack of knowledge when that is said.
I have been taking intraoral pictures of virtually every filling I do in order to show the patient simply because I want to educate them and show them what I see. ‘Look, you don’t have to take my word for it, this big black spot is decay.’
That way even if it does hurt them, they know why you were doing it.
