Execs don't take 5 weeks leave + holidays
Execs don't clock out at 5 and forget about work everynight
Execs don't get paid to do the same straightforward tasks every day. They make decisions that will impact millions of shareholders and determine earnings for all of them and then answer to them, the board and regulatory bodies every day. The jobs and compensation are not comparable.
The most difficult tasks at auto plants that require real craftsmen have all been automated these days. 90% of these workers are showing up everyday and getting paid above average wages to do simple tasks. Strikes like this are going to encourage more AI to rid them of the unions altogether.
I toured the Toyota factory in Texas and they said the only reason there are so many workers in the assembly line is because they have to maintain a certain level of employment to keep their tax break from the city. Otherwise thousands of additional jobs would have already been automated. These employees are getting a good deal and are asking to basically be paid really well to go on vacation 1/3 of the year now
