Maybe we find out that Ford can't profitable manufacturer and sell cars in the USA and that workers are better off finding other jobs.
I'm skeptical that all of these UAW employees are able to transition to better paying jobs.
But when Hostess ended business after a stale-mate and a strike, it was "fine." Hostess's business model didn't really work at the time, and the striking-employees really weren't willing to work for so little to make Hostess business work. Not offensive, just "is." I don't recall either side really regretting that result, either.
