Grandparents were stadium donors back in early 80s.
The deal with BYU was stadium donors would get rights to purchase prime west seats for the rest of their lives at current market rates and the ability to pass those rights onto one generation to their last surviving child.
In the Woodalls’ case, the last of the second generation has now passed away.
The third generation has benefited from the stadium donor deal while the second generation was alive but those rights have now elapsed.
Third generation is now subject to the same deal as everyone else - you’re rights to purchase season tickets are determined by current Cougar Club rules, contribution level, points accruals, etc.
Do I have that right?
I sympathize with the passing of her parents. But assuming this is the scenario, I don’t think BYU has done anything wrong. A bunch of people jumping to conclusions without understanding the deal that was made which BYU has actually honored and lost out on a bunch of subsequent donor money by honoring.
