He always rushes 4 in both his 3-3-5 or 4-2-5. It’s just usually different 4th rusher. I would say at least 55% of the time he blitzes a 5th OLB or DB.
His philosophy is to mix it up so they never know who’s coming and what coverage they’re running. He takes risks by bringing them on passing downs. Almost every position has a TFL BYU front 7 don’t even all have a TFL.

The only reason Tuiaki defense does well is most teams aren’t patient enough to run the ball because they get down when the offense was doing well. You will see a strong correlation between rush plays and points scored.
