Our coaching staff has collective 204 yrs of coaching experience including assistants with multiple years of head coaching experience and also coordinator experience. What is your realistic view of their experience and why did you list that as though it were a concern?

I would list coaching staff experience as a strength of this team, not something that needs to be realistically viewed. Also we have former head coaches in coordinator positions and multiple former coordinators in position coaching spots. That's incredible depth and a significant benefit with player development. We saw last year that the collective OC experience with Arod, Fesi and Grimes contributed to a really robust and prolific offense that hasn't been seen at BYU since Crowton's 1st year.

As for the returning players experience, returning production is one way to look at it, so is returning starts. We have multiple guys returning this year from injuries that kept them out of 2020 and they have starting experience like Keanu Saleapaga, Atunaisa Mahe, Chaz Ah You, Lorenzo Fauatea, etc or returning from missions like Dallin Holker. Factor that in with incoming transfers and their experience like the Nacua brothers, and we return a lot of starting experience which changes the narrative of only looking at returning production from 2020.

The thing with data is if you lock into only one set of data to interpret a situation and formulate an opinion you can get an unrealistic perspective. Just like with the scriptures, you can get an incomplete interpretation of the meaning of a doctrinal principle if you take it out of context or cherry pick but when you review multiple scriptures on a topic across different books you get a more realistic and complete understanding.
